We could say that Margarita is formed by two islands, joined together through La Restinga, a beautiful national park, located at only 10 minutes from the Ferry terminal in Punta Piedras, at 15 minutes from the airport and half an hour from Porlamar.

When you get to La Restinga, after paying the National Park entry fee, several boats will be waiting to take you for a trip through the lagoon to the beach. When you arrive to the beach, just tell the captain at what time you want to be picked up.

The Arestinga beach is 22 kilometers (15 miles) long. It has waves and the sand is thick. You can rent shades and chairs. You will also find a couple of restaurants.

Restaurants show your lunch options and the price: you will know exactly what you want to eat, without needing to look at neighboring tables.

When I go to La Restinga I always bring a bucket to pick "guacucos". Just dig a hole where the waves break and you will find them in large amounts. At night, you can prepare an excellent rice with guacucos.

Come to us to know all places of the Margarita island, and the neighbors Coche island and Los Frailes.
