One of our favorite beaches is Punta Arenas. Its in the edge of Macanao, very far from Porlamar (about an hour), but the trip is worthwhile, specially if it is combined with a visit to the Marine Museum.

Sea and lots of sand
Punta Arenas (Sand Point Edge) is called this way because it has an edge in the Southwest of Margarita and each side of the edge there is a beach. The one to the left (when you look the Sea) is the South part and has a fisher town and facilities in the beach (tents and foods), the part on the right side is a little more distanced and has two restaurants where you cant eat very well, but at a higher price.

The west beach

The south beach
It doesn’t matter which one of the beaches you decide to stay in, we recommend you to walk from one to the other and you’ll enjoy an excellent walk.

The sunset in Punta Arenas
When you go to Punta Arenas, stay until sunset. The sun will slowly fall over the sea, giving a spectacular luminosity that will allow you to take really special photos.

Walking among friends
Come to us to know all places of the Margarita island, and the neighbors Coche island and Los Frailes.
