Cubiro Entrance
This charming town is located in the mountains at the South of Barquisimeto. Its fresh cool climate, beautiful constructions and easy access make the spot highly attractive to the "barquisimetanos" (people from barquisimeto) who flood in during weekends
The town church shelters the mortal remains of Diego de Lozada, the illustrious founder of Caracas, Cubiro and some other towns. Here he died and was buried with the armour he wore in his lifetime.

Quibor Valley view
This view of Quibor is one of the many beautiful sights Cubiro offers; from here you can have a wide view of the town.
Another fine attraction at Cubiro, especially for nature lovers, is horse riding in Las Lomas park.

This beautiful village is not only a tourist centre, but also an agricultural one, where most local producers come to trade their goods.

Yacambu National Park is one of the nicest spots nearby Sanare. From here a dyke, which is presently under construction will water all the Quibor Valley.
