It is a compulsory stop for all tourist (young and not so young), who have a terrific time rolling down the sandy hillsides.

On this mini-desert the wind blows implacably, moving the dunes all around and covering up all the scarce vegetation.

During the severe floods that so badly struck Venezuela and totally devastated the Vargas State in December 1999, the heavy rain formed four lagoons in the dunes; a happening that according to park guards had never occurred before and is not likely to happen again. Posada La Casa de los Pajaros (Bird´s house Inn) is located in Coro’s center city- a UNESCO World Heritage site- . The Posada is a charming colonial house, with six comfortable rooms, each of them with air conditioning and an inexpensive option, a dormitory or shared room with fan and shared bathroom. The rooms are located around the central courtyard and the backyard. Verandas along the yards are full of hammocks. The back garden has big trees that attract a lot of tropical birds where our guests can enjoy a typical Caribbean environment.

La Casa de los Pájaros
We organize Day tours for the most exciting areas around, such as Peninsula de Paraguaná (desert & beaches), Sierra de San Luis (mountain, caves & water falls), Ancients Archaeological sites such Taima Taima and Urumaco; and a excited half a day waking tour “Inside the Sand Dunes”, to see the most amazing untouched landscape within this National Park.
