Trips to the Caura River
One of the natural attractions is the magnificent Para Waterfall, an impressive Cascade named by the aborigine community of the ye'kwana. In the Caura River you can also practice pavon fishing with one of the most recognized professionals of this activity. To lodge or accomodate in this area, we recommend the Carauma Camp, located incide the estate with this same name. It has 10.500 hectares, dedicated to the buffalo raising and ecologic tourism. It is 223Km. From Ciudad Bolivar and very close to Maripa, at the shore of the Caura River. The camp offers landscapes constituted by Savannahs with Morichales (trees from the area) that are the main reunion point of the fauna due to their natural condition of water reservoir in dry season.
Depending on the weather and on the preferences of the traveler, you can get to the camp in a private plane, or in a commercial flight to Ciudad Bolivar and then travel in your own vehicle or private translation (we offer this service) in an asphalted road until arriving the camp.
The Caurama Camp has 18 double rooms, all with roof ventilator and private bathroom. The camp also has a spacious dinning room, where you can enjoy from delicious and exotic rain forest food dishes. Caurama also counts with a churuata bar, pool and safe box service. For the trips, there are two vehicles: a Toyota for 6 persons and a Jeep for 4 persons, a boat with capacity for 8 persons, a canoe for 6 persons, 3 electric plants, two water reservoirs, an SSB radio and a cell phone.
