On a detour off the route from Trujillo to Merida the visitor will find a tiny town which is perhaps one of the prettiest in the Venezuelan Geography: Jajo.

The twenty-minute ride to the town can easily be lengthen if you succumb to the lure of the magnificent landscape, exuberant trees, imposing mountains and fine crops which graciously usher you to Jajo.

Entrance to Jajo
Jajo was founded nearly 400 years ago.As you enjoy a walk on its paved streets and admire the small white colonial houses crowned by the typical red tiles, you may easily evoke the colonial years.

As in most provincial Venezuelan towns, the main activities in Jajo gravitate around the ever present Bolivar Square, which faces San Pedro's Church, one of Jajo's main attractions which is worth admiring both inside and outside.
